Tax Help Montana Program Manager
This position provides strategic direction and technical support for the volunteer income tax assistance program. Responsibilities include coordination of the state-wide Tax Help Montana program. This will include such duties as researching current specific regional and community needs, contacting potential partners, establishing and maintaining relationships with community partners, establishing a program framework, developing funding partners, coordinating local tax sites, and incorporating asset development programs at tax site locations.
This is a full-time, grant funded position. This person reports to the Director and/or Assistant Director of Asset Development and supervises THM program staff and volunteers.
Responsibilities and Functions:
- Coordination of Tax Help Montana statewide.
- Coordination of Tax Help Montana coalition.
- Responsible for statewide Earned Income Credit and Advance Earned Income Credit outreach activities.
- Responsible for establishing/maintaining partnerships with community organizations for new and existing tax sites.
- Responsible for establishing/maintaining partnerships with colleges for student participation in Tax Help Montana.
- Responsible for managing and operating VITA sites in Great Falls.
- Responsible for the recruitment of volunteers for tax site locations.
- Responsible for organizing volunteer events and recognition.
- Responsible for developing asset development strategies at the tax sites and for supervising staff performing these duties at the tax sites.
- Responsible for organizing training and certification of tax site volunteers.
- Responsible for coordination with Communication Department, partners and IRS SPEC staff for volunteer recruitment, training, marketing, site management and evaluation
- Responsible for evaluation of tax program after tax season.
- Responsible for developing and managing grant objectives for Tax Help Montana grants.
- Coordination of volunteer activities with RSVP.
- Responsible for Tax Help Montana annual report.
- Responsible for the management of Tax Help Montana budget.
- Responsible for the coordination and supervision of tax site volunteers, AmeriCorps VISTA, interns, and other program staff, including Assistant Program Manager.
- This salaried exempt position may be required to work extra hours, as deemed necessary to perform and carry out duties and responsibilities. Responsible for assisting with the development of grant funding opportunities for Tax Help Montana program.
- Other Duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field, or a combination of experience and education in related field.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with high degree of professional integrity.
- Willing to become certified in Tax-Preparation in regard to state and federal tax filings.
- Ability to motivate others to meet performance measures.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary. Travel required including some over night.
- Team focused with effective leadership skills.
- Experience in training and community relations.
- Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance required.
- Proficient on a person computer and Microsoft products.
- Promote good relations in communities where VITA sites are located.
- An employee credit report must be taken and any negative information must be explained to Executive Director.
- Must be bondable.
Director of Counseling
